Greenways Farm, Kent.
Date: 15th March 2008-03-16
Time: Afternoon and evening until approximately 2am
Weather conditions: overcast, drizzle, light winds.
Persons present: Nick Jones, Tracey Milliams, Janet Walkinshaw, Sheila Lynch, Karl, Patrick McNamara, Janet Blair, Malcolm Dyer.
These notes were compiled during the event and written up the following afternoon by Malcolm Dyer.
Thanks to our hosts, Nick and Tracey for once again greeting us, as we entered their lovely home, with a glorious log fire blazing in the Inglenook, within the setting of their lovely timbered living room. Warmed by hot beverages and hot food we soon consigned the grim March gloom outside, to a faint memory.

Greenways Farm: Dating from the mid c15th, this timber-framed house has witnessed the closing decades of the Middle Ages and the emergence of the Modern World. Interestingly, close examination of this photo reveals several ‘spectral orbs’ said to be of paranormal origin.
Patrick McNamara and Karl arrived at Greenways Farm, to join hosts Nick and Tracey and guests Sheila Lynch, Janet Walkinshaw, Janet Blair and Malcolm Dyer, at around 6pm.
6pm, downstairs in the Kitchen: Patrick, (who, it must be noted here, had absolutely no acquaintance with Sheila and Janet W), addressing himself to Sheila, informed her that:
“There is a small child here standing near to you and he wants you to know that,” it is OK” and that,” he is very happy and being looked after”. “Also, a birthday is mentioned. He says, “Tell Mummy it’s alright”. Richard wants to be remembered to you. Also there is a dog next to you. A gentleman is speaking to me and speaks of money that should be transferred from one account to another. Quoting him, “it has got to be done to finish it.” I think that he is your grandfather. He really loves you. He says to,” forget everything, use the best bits, if necessary run, make a new beginning, make a fresh start.”
Sheila told me that this made perfect sense to her.
6.10pm downstairs in the Kitchen: Patrick then turned his attention to Janet W, who was standing with Sheila, in order to say the following to her:
“I have a Rose or Rosy and she seems to be someone you used to know long ago, (at this communication, Janet W seemed puzzled), and perceiving this he went on to say, “think of your mother”. He then went on to refer to there being,” a problem with your eyes and hormonal problems and stress”. Janet W seemed to acquiesce in this information and said to me that she could not recall a Rose/Rosy and will ask her dad about it.
Turning to Nick, he informed him that, “There is a Margaret or Maggie with you”. He seemed to understand this reference.
Patrick then returned his attention once again to Sheila, telling her that:
“You are changing your bathroom/toilet, (she confirmed that this is true and that a kitchen waste pipe has just been repaired in her kitchen). “Let go of the past, you will get a little bit stronger and realize just how big a bastard some people can be”.
No provenance was given for this communication, but Sheila seemed to understand it very well.
Turning to Tracey, Patrick said that, “there is a setter-dog in front of you”. Apparently, this was the dog that died just a week previously.
7.50pm Living Room: Sheila, Janet W, Janet B, Patrick and Malcolm were present. Patrick stated that, “There are six spirits in this room and there is a black and white dog on the left hand side of Janet B.” He identified this as a Dalmatian. Janet B said that, “I am getting an Anne” (later, on the way home, she explained to me that this lady was the sister of someone named, Mary-Rose). Patrick, addressing himself to Sheila said that, “I see a bottle of champagne and that things are going to be interesting for you. You are what you think you are, (possibly this latter sentiment was advisory rather than of paranormal origin). You have been losing weight and are more positive.” Sheila communicated to us that she is going to a wedding soon.
8pm Solar: All of us adjourned upstairs to an extensively timbered room, which may have been the Solar in medieval times. Here, Karl had carefully set up the ‘apparatus’, which consisted of a corner of the room deliberately ‘blanked off’ with a hanging black cotton sheet, two strategically sited spotlights, coloured blue and red and controlled by faders, a ‘horn’, apparently made of sheet cardboard and marked with light coloured paint, at the top and middle section. (here a stripe had been painted around the circumference), and two digital cameras to film the event in infrared and a digital Dictaphone. We were seated around a wooden coffee table, with the digital cameras sited on stands on one side of our gathering and aimed across the table towards the side where the ‘black cotton sheet’ obscured a corner of the room. Here Patrick sited himself, alternately sitting and standing in order to explain and demonstrate phenomena. Under low light levels, or at times, in inky darkness, we remained for around two hours.
Transfiguration and evidence of the presence of ectoplasm was demonstrated.
In what has to be described as ‘semi-darkness’, I ‘saw’ ectoplasm. The best way that I can describe this as it being what appeared to be very, very fine threads – looking somewhat alike to static electricity – but unlike the latter very stable and even ‘elastic’ in nature and extending up to 3 inches from the fingertips of Janet W to those of Patrick. I was sitting no more than four feet from them and had an uninterrupted view. Without a doubt this phenomena would have been invisible in normal lighted conditions. I also can state that I appeared to ‘feel’ ectoplasm. In virtual darkness, instructed to do so by Patrick, (who was not near me and certainly could not have been in front of me without encountering the limbs of those gathered about the table, to the pained remonstrance of their owners, as well as the table itself), I elevated my forearms and hands to about face level, (I was seated), and upon raising and lowering same, it actually felt as if my limbs were moving ‘in fine cobwebs’ although there clearly could not be such a substance present. Again, this time in good lighting conditions, he asked me to place my left hand within an inch of a single flower held by Tracey, (sitting to my right) and I felt what best can be described as,’ a drawing or pulling sensation between my raised fingertips and the base of the flower’.
During this Session, Patrick attempted to communicate with several ‘presences’, to little effect, (to my observation), but then referred to the presence of, “Two men, periwigged, from the time of James, (here, I intervened to point out that this would be James 11, periwigs being a lamentable result of the otherwise wise decision of the Late Commonwealth Parliament to reinstate the decorous Stuart Dynasty). He got the name, ‘Hardwick’ and that these men, who might have been cousins, appeared to be connected with the ancient establishment around us. They appeared to exhibit signs of ‘jealousy’ between one another, on account of the preferences of a particularly lovely girl of wealthy fortune. Interestingly, just prior to his giving this information, Janet B had ‘got’ the same two gentlemen of this name. She only communicated this fact to me during the subsequent drive home.
By now, it was 11.30pm and we adjourned to the comfort of the farm kitchen and applied ourselves to the contents of a commodious table, spread with Italian food, French bread, and a steaming cauldron of freshly made soup.
12.45 am Living Room: Present – Nick, Tracey, Patrick, Janet B and Malcolm. Patrick detected the presence of, “Thomas, a lay-preacher and interested in the Occult. He was the father of Mary-Rose, (see above note for 7.50 in the Living Room), and Anne. Mary Rose appears to be very pretty and aged 14-15years, whilst Anne is younger.” Could this mean that these young ladies died young?
